The Merrimack Valley Soccer League is there for the kids of Central New Hampshire. We are a group of 22 towns, schools and recreation leagues, providing scheduled games for all ages. That means over 1,300 kids, 86 teams, 818 games and about a dozen season-ending tournaments. They love it!

Notice Regarding 2020 Soccer Season
With some sadness, the leadership of MVSL has voted to not have a league-sanctioned soccer season this fall. It just seems prudent to take this season off, given the on-going concerns with the COVID-19 virus and the expectations set by the State of NH’s Safer at Home 2.0 guidelines for youth and amateur sports, which can be viewed here. https://www.nheconomy.com/getmedia/7eae52a5-cfa8-4cf9-b570-21edb43012fd/Amateur-and-Youth-Sports_5-22-20-Guidance.pdf
While we would like nothing more than to have a “normal” soccer season this year, the truth is that the stakes are simply too high for our family members, friends and colleagues to have league-organized play among our groups spread over Central New Hampshire.
Admittedly, it was a split vote among all of the member groups, nearly 50-50. Most groups are still interested in keeping their local activity alive with small-group skills development and practices, and maybe some small ad hoc scrimmages with some of our neighboring towns. You may receive a note from your town or club’s director regarding what they have planned for your group. If you are interested in your child still having a soccer experience this fall and have not heard, contact your local director. Director contact info can be found on the “Who To Contact” tab above.
We know this decision is not what some families had hoped for, but it probably is not unexpected, given the current situation locally and globally. Hopefully, everybody will follow the recommendations of their leaders and we can get back to some degree of normalcy for next season, which will start with our first 5/6 boys games starting at 5:30 pm on September 7, 2021!
Please reach out to your community’s soccer directors with any questions, comments and concerns. Meanwhile, partake of the many recreational opportunities available across the state. Participate in practices provided in your community and spend time hiking, biking, swimming and kicking with your families. We all want what’s best for our family. Check back here next spring and register your child for next season. Nobody knows what the future holds. But if we have our way, we will be here next summer.
Please stay safe and flexible.
Respectfully,
Your friends at the Merrimack Valley Soccer League

Lightning Safety
There is NO safe place out-of-doors during a lightning storm. If you can hear thunder, you are within lightning's reach. When a lightning flash is followed within 30 seconds by the clap of thunder, the storm is within 6 miles of you and within striking distance to objects(and people) in the area. Immediately seek shelter within a sturdy building or enclosed vehicle until at least 30 minutes after the last thunder is heard. It is the steel roof and frame of a car that protects you, not the rubber tires, which would have to be a mile thick to save you. A baseball dugout or open-sided picnic shelter is NOT adequate shelter!
